So, I blogged a couple of weeks ago about the type of licence we were thinking of using for the project. I can now confirm that we are going for the Creative Commons, Attribution, Non-Commercial 2.0 England and Wales licence (BY-NC).
With the licence finalised, the project plan sent to JISC, and the selection process underway, I thought it might be a good time to get some documentation preparation done, as I know from experience on the OER Phase 1 OTTER project, that materials need to be cleared as quickly as possible, to prevent hold up of subsequent work packages, such as digitisation and OER creation.
To this end, I have created a draft disclaimer and takedown notice, a permissions request form and a progress tracking sheet, all of which I’ll make available via the blog once they are finalised.
I have also been working on a communications strategy, trying to determine what tools the Project Group have available to publicise our progress and outputs from the project. Although this blog is a fantastic medium, don’t forget our Twitter hashtag ‘manufacturing pasts’, or to check the project website for further developments.
